- Re-copy taste editorial content from the monitor , headlines and captions for facts , accuracy , taste , house-style, language use, clarity, details and objectivity
- Edits copy to appropriate length, clarity and style without distorting facts or dispensing with salient points
- Selects and edits pictures and write /re-writes appropriate captions to enhance their quality.
- Ensure proper layout of copy and pictures in the web pages.
- Modify stores to suit international audience
- Ensure timely online publications and sign offs
- Update articles regularly
- Develop and maintain the Daily monitor websites when the news breaks.
- Respond timely to complaints, feedback and suggestions from all website users.
- Initiate and develop content for the Monitor website and All Online products and services.
- Basic University Degree
- Diploma in Journalism
- 3 to 5 years working experience in a newsroom
- Excellent writing and editing skills with good understanding of online writing and editing requirements such as the use of keywords, hyperlinks and navigation.
- Have good eye for detail with excellent taste in spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Good organizational skills & ability to effectively work in teams and collect web content from several resources.
- Advanced computer skills
- Shrewd deadline meeting skills
- Adaptability to change and willingness to learn new opportunities.
- Good Social Media expertise with excellent understanding of latest trends in media and web analytics.
- Ability to strategize and align priorities
