- Participate in study planning which includes travelling to potential hospital sites, protocol and SOP writing.
- Oversee daily operation of proposed research in preparation phase involving bimonthly site visits and coordination with study partners.
- Develop and implement objectives, action plans, budgets, refinements and initiatives as planned or assigned by the ACESO Uganda Country Director and MUWRP Head of Research and Scientific Affairs
- Liaison for proposed study sites which will involve acting as a primary point of contact for the proposed study sites and organizing for refresher trainings
- Oversee development and implementation of training for clinical study staff.
- Other duties as assigned and as necessary to accomplish the project’s mission.
- Degree in Medicine (MD, MBChB or equivalent) and Public Health (MPH or equivalent)
Project implementation, administration, financial management with emphasis on clinical trial operations, clinical management of severely ill hospitalized patients, basic data analysis, grant writing and manuscript publication. - Experience of at least 3 years conducting research in Uganda with international partners involving patients with severe sepsis will be an added advantage.
- Fluency in verbal and written English and Luganda.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to travel to all of the study sites which may be located in regions (i.e., North, West, East) of Uganda distant from Kampala.
