Job Summary: The Job Holder will;

  • Support the company in meeting its objectives to operate in a social responsible manner in procurement and contracting areas, and comply with all the mandatory requirements in accordance with Petroleum Act, PSA and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with PEPD and other external bodies.
  • Identify and develop Local suppliers market to support the company operation from strategic perspective.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop company National Contents policies and procedures in procurement and contracting areas following the company policy, local laws and PSA etc.
  • Develop company National Contents strategic objectives and action plan in alignment with company operation objectives
  • Explore and develop Ugandan suppliers and service providers to support company operation, meeting company EHS and quality standards.
  • Build and strengthen the business relationship between the company and the government to maximise opportunities.
  • Manage National Contents performance reporting in Uganda, and regularly provide reporting to and seek feedback from PEPD and any other government bodies as required.
  • Provide support and represent National Contents interests to Supply Chain activities including Contracting & Procurement, Contract Administration, Supplier Sourcing and CSR activities.
  • Managing relationships with local suppliers, including day to day enquiries, interfaces etc.
  • Arrange and attend regular interfaces with suppliers and potential suppliers to identify suitability, development needs and potential partners;
  • Other duties as assigned by superior.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in SCM management, contracting, planning, finance, business management or the related.
  • Minimum 10 years at a supervisory level preferably in professional services background e.g. banking, accountancy, law or SCM etc, or has performed similar role in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of local laws and rules of national contents requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of business management, planning, SCM etc.
  • Understanding of Oil E&P.
