The Unit is a center of
excellence in HIV/AIDS related research. It conducts large-scale
epidemiological and intervention studies, clinical trials, virological and
immunological research and behavioral studies, clinical trials, virological and
immunological research and behavioral studies, and has generated a wealth of
research results that have been used to inform policy and practice, and that
have led to a large number of scientific publications in peer reviewed journals
over time.

Key
Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Screening,
recruitment and follow up study volunteers - Provision
of clinical care to study participants and initiate referrals as
appropriate - Prescription
of Investigational Product (IP) - Collection
and documentation data as required by the protocol - Supervision
of junior clinical and other research staff - Participate
in protocol development and other study related materials - Perform
other duties assigned by the Principal Investigator and/or Project Leader
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
Skills and Experience:
- MBChB
or equivalent. - At
least 2 years of post-qualification professional experience.
Registration with Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council. - Training
or experience in clinical research would be an added advantage. - Good
interpersonal/communications skills. - Fluency
in verbal and written English. - A
good understanding of Luganda. - Highly
organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated. - Ability
to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
