has received funding from the United States Agency for International
Development (USAID) to implement the Strengthening Partnerships, Results and
Innovations in Nutrition Globally (SPRING) Project to work in the Southwest of
Uganda with a focus on strengthening the treatment and preventive nutrition
services in health facilities, and overseeing the implementation of specific
tasks that strengthen food fortification efforts nationally.
overseeing all IT support for SPRING Uganda Operations, both within the
headquarters and the sub-offices as they are established. Assist in assessing
new technologies, technical guidance and troubleshooting. She/He will manage IT
resources and consultants and assist in the computerization of organization’s
information systems.

Development, implementation and maintenance of systems
solutions and applications including development methods and standards. - ·
The day-to-day operation of central computer systems and
servers and the computer facility - ·
Design, implementation, maintenance and day-to-day
operation and control of LAN/WAN/communications networks for SPRING Uganda. - ·
Supporting all SPRING Uganda end-users. May include
support for end-user acquisitions, help desk functions and end-user advice, training
end-users on software and trouble-shooting hardware related problems. - ·
Technical support to maintain SPRING Uganda databases - ·
Ensuring the security of all SPRING Uganda IT systems and
equipment - ·
Management and implementation of all changes to SPRING
Uganda IT systems and applications and ensuring their continued availability
and effectiveness. - ·
Maintain access to the systems and undertake software
updates and corrections. - ·
Track, supervise and provide support on the use of pool
IT equipment such as laptops, projectors, cameras, printers in collaboration
with the other Administrative staff - ·
Provide technical input on procurement of all IT
equipment and accessories - ·
Tracking and maintenance of software licenses - ·
Assist the M&E team in data management where
applicable.
& Experience:
- ·
Minimum of BSc Information Technology, or Computer
Science, Microsoft certified course, Cisco certified. - ·
A minimum 5 years working experience in a similar
capacity with a reputable organisation or well established IT firm. - ·
Experience working for an NGO and/or in a development
context is an added advantage - ·
Demonstrated a high level of responsiveness - ·
Detailed oriented and has ability to organize multiple
and diverse tasks, but the flexibility to adjust to program needs - ·
Motivation and commitment to the program, the job tasks,
and the work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team - ·
Strong skills in teamwork and Excellent analytical skills - ·
Oral and written communication - ·
High level of integrity - ·
Ability to work on own initiative / proactive attitude.
