Job Title: Marketing Assistant

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

In line with the growing business needs in Uganda, we are seeking highly competent professionals who possess a passion for excellence, strong work ethic, are results oriented and are committed to continual improvement to fill the following position: The position will be based in Kampala with frequent travel within the region.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following amongst others:
·         Formulate, coordinate and implement the marketing strategy
·         Allocate resources per objectives and manage the cost of the marketing budget
·         Select the appropriate channels of promotion and communication
·         Lead in marketing concept creation, with management team and advertising agencies
·         Develop and position the Uchumi brand to achieve the highest level of customer preference and satisfaction
·         Formulate and ensure implementation of competitive market intelligence strategies
·         Drive Marketing innovations
·         Initiate training and development of staff
·         Keep staff updated on targets and provide guidelines on how to achieve them.
·         Ensure successful and profitable specialty partnerships
·         Maintain mutual supplier and stake holder relationships
·         Organizing corporate marketing and CSR events
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
·         University degree in Marketing or a related course.
·         Additional graphic qualifications will be an added advantage
·         Excellent communication and analytical skills.
·         Good decision making skills
·         Proven leadership capability
·         Customer service skills.
·         At least 3 years experience in mass market sales.
