Reports To: Director MIS
Job Purpose: The Job Holder will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
· Engineering of MIS-related solutions for various project and operational needs.
· Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
· Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
· Plans implement, and supports the network and computing infrastructure plan.
· Responsible for monitoring data backups in offices to ensure that they are completed on a regular basis.
· Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
· Investigating and troubleshoot issues.
· Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.
· Provide new staff with PC/account setup and orientation.
· Provide escalated technical support that requires an on-site presence.
· Provide consulting/training /education services such as data management and staff training/ orientation for standard system.
· Apply Patches and upgrades on regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities
· Configure/add new services as necessary.
· Upgrade and configure system software that supports ERP infrastructure application per project or operational needs.
· Maintain operational configuration, or other procedures.
· Perform ongoing performances tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
· Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment
· Responsible for local inventory maintenance and software license management.
· Serves as the technical and communications liaison to and from stakeholders and office key users MIS Department communications, initiatives, needs, assessments .etc.
· Network administration (including backup, security management, user account management-mail system including e-mail web server, internet access, office systems and applications support).
Qualification, Skills and Experience:
· Honors Degree BSc in computer Science, Management information system or Business Administration; supplemented with one or more courses in current technology.
· Systems and database Administration/Engineer certification in Unix, Cisco or Microsoft
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position (s)
