Job Title: Project Officer
About Project:
The Government of the Republic of Uganda has received financing from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the East African Public Health Laboratories Networking Project. The specific objectives of the project are contributes to attainment of Health Sector Strategic Plan (HSSP) II objectives, and establishing a network of efficient, high quality, accessible public health laboratories for the diagnosis and surveillance of Tuberculosis (TB), and other communicable diseases.
Duty Station: Ministry of Health Uganda. Must be willing and ready to work anywhere in Uganda, especially upcountry.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
·         Prepare and update Project work plans
·         Prepare Project activity reports for management and other stakeholders
·         Maintain an inventory of all project assets working with the Project Accountant and focal points of the laboratories supported by the project.
·         Prepare minutes of all project meetings and maintain a repository of project activities.
·         Perform any other task relevant to the project assigned by the Project Coordinator.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
·         Masters in Business Administration/ Project Management and/or in Public Health or its Equivalent.
·         At least 5 years out of which 3 years in a health related organization involving laboratory activities.
·         Demonstrated ability to excel in a team environment with multi-tasking.
·         Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in computer applications especially Excel and Microsoft.
·         Demonstrated ability to handle good working relationships with senior officials and technical experts in Government, NGOs, and international agencies.
·         Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
·         Proven integrity in executing assignment
