Job Title: Regional Grants Specialist
Reports to: Director Grants
Job Summary: The Grants Specialist(s) is responsible for managing, monitoring, and reporting on project grant disbursements to the relevant local governments. In addition, the Specialist(s) will identify technical assistance (TA) needs of local governments in the areas of financial management, budgeting and procurement, and may provide on the spot TA, as needed.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
· Track grant disbursements to Local Governments and oversee accountability and adherence to the terms of these grants.
· Undertake periodic site visits to Local Governments to conduct spot checks of performance and expenditures.
· Orient district officials to SDS grant requirements through formal and informal trainings and communication.
· Work with other regional team members and the Director of Grants to identify areas of TA, and provide TA to cover any issues or gaps that impair grant performance, in areas such as financial management, budgeting and procurement.
· Identifying high performance district grantees that may be eligible for Category B and C grants, and whom can serve as an example and mentor for all districts
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree (Finance, accounting, business administration or similar degree)
· 5+ years of experience in monitoring and reporting on financial expenditures under grants programs.
· Experience with USAID and U.S.G regulations and procedures, especially concerning grants.
· Experience working with local governments and USAID programs
· Experience using Excel
· Excellent organizational and analytical
