About URC:
University Research Co., LLC (URC), a US-based public health organization working in Uganda since 2005, is implementing the USAID-funded Strengthening Uganda’s Systems for Treating AIDS Nationally (SUSTAIN) project. The project supports delivery of quality HIV prevention, treatment, care and laboratory services at selected referral and general hospitals. URC is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions based in Kampala at SUSTAIN offices (unless stated otherwise):
Job Summary: The Incumbent will be responsible for assisting the project TB/HIV QI Technical Advisor to plan, coordinate, and monitor the implementation of all project components of TB care at supported hospitals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·         Build capacity for TB infection control at SUSTAIN supported hospitals.
·         Establish and maintain a TB quality improvement collaborative database
·         Provide technical support to hospital TB care teams to effectively implement and report activities
·         Monitor the implementation of planned activities through periodic consultations, progress review meetings, reports review, and field visits: providing feedback for improving performance
·         Conduct TB operational research activities involving the project supported hospitals
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
·         MBChB with a relevant post-graduate qualification (at least Master level) in public health or clinical medicine preferred.
·         At least 3 years experience in managing HIV programs in Uganda, preferably in the area of TB-HIV services.
·         Knowledge of the current policy, programming and practice trends in the field of TB- HIV.
·         Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
