About UNADA:
UNADA is the national apex organization for all agro-input dealers in Uganda registered under the NGO statute in 2003. UNADA believes that the private sector input dealers are the engine of growth for the Ugandan agricultural sector and are a prime force behind the modernization of Uganda’s agriculture and the achievement of national food security. Our mission is to represent, network and empower member Agra- dealers to operate sustainable profitable businesses providing quality agro- vet inputs and services to farmers. UNADA has over 1,000 members organized in regions and district-level branches. The organisation is seeking a Programmes Manager, who is mature, highly responsible, credible, trustworthy, self-motivated and innovative to be based in Kampala but with frequent travel to the field.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide technical guidance to the field staff in planning, budgeting and implementation of project activities.
· Compile progress reports, budgets and work plans from the regions, integrate and/or consolidate them and ensure their timely submission to all stakeholders.
· Provide Business Development and other technical services to agro dealers
· Develop strategies for sustainable access to financial services for agro dealers.
· Develop a promotional campaign for seed, fertilisers and other inputs in collaboration with member suppliers through radio programs, brochures, leaflets, demonstrations.
· Organise and Conduct business management, seed merchandising, output marketing, safe use of agro-chemicals trainings for agro-input dealers in collaboration with stakeholders.
· Establish close linkages between input suppliers, dealers and major commodity value chain actors (producer groups, processors and exporters)
· Any other tasks as shall be assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
· A Bachelors Degree in any of the following: Agri-business, Agricultural economics or general Agriculture.
· At least three (3) years experience in NGO sector or related field in a similar position.
· Sound computer knowledge in Word and Excel Spreadsheet.
· Capacity to travel extensively within the country and ability to drive long distances is a must.
