Job Summary: To develop partnerships and strategic alliances with the private and public sectors; and to contribute and to engage with large-scale product development and delivery so that agreed engagement and funding targets are met. To build and maintain relationships to ensure influence with partners.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· To increase funding (through the books and in kind) from a range of partners in line with British Council Uganda’s strategic plan.
· To identify new opportunities and manage a pursuit list for new project partnerships and external funding sources for Uganda
· To ensure that appropriate budget planning, forecast and monitoring is in place and exceptions for plans are reported in accordance with financial policies and procedures
· Contribute to external environment risk analysis and management by monitoring external (political, legal and economic) and internal (corporate standards and procedures) environments; and analyse changes and developments; recommending appropriate course of action in response to environmental changes; in accordance with British Council’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
· To build a high performance project team in line with British Council procedures, standards and values and, in accordance with Essential HR and Equality &diversity policies.
· Serve as member of country senior management team (SMT), country programme team and other teams as appropriate.
· To ensure all projects are monitored in accordance with corporate guidelines and that the outcomes are communicated within the market and position British Council projects and Brand amongst stakeholders.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
· Experience of working with donors on large scale development projects; or of working with multinational company on business development.
· Strong team player, self-starter and ability to be an active member of the senior management team
· Ability to work well with limited supervision and with limited resources
Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to communicate to both internal and external audiences with the ability to establish and manage trusted relationships with key stakeholders

· First degree in a related discipline
· Strong project management background and expertise .
