The Technical Architect will act as the Technical Authority:
- Overseeing cross functional designs, implementation and approve compliance with or variance from the standard.
- Ensuring that there are robust and repeatable solutions to deliver our business objectives strategy around the world.
- Defining the standard building blocks of infrastructure.
- Provide technical roadmaps and technical guidance.
- Proven skills in solutioning and designing architectures across the whole IT stack
- Proven track record of delivery in a variety of Technical Architecture roles
- Experience of working for an organisation in the IT services or consultancy arena
- Be an expert in one or more of the following Infrastructure / Data Centre / Networks / Storage Workplace / Identity / Sharepoint / Unified Comms / Disaster Recovery / Collaboration / Virtualisation / Sustainability (Greener IT) / Security Technology arenas.
- Involvement in presentations to senior management levels with both the business and Infrastructure team.
- Good analytical skills and an ability to define and articulate the precise nature of any given situation appropriately to the target audience whether technical or non technical
- Presence and credibility in front of customers, with the gravitas to work effectively with representatives from our customers’ technical and business teams at all levels
- Customer relationship development and influencing skills.
- Strong communication skills at all levels (verbal, written, presentation).
- Ability to work under pressure and remain decisive.
- Ability to appraise and quality assure the work produced by others.
- The ability to identify new potential business opportunities within the customer’s organisation.
- The ability to effectively communicate technical issues to a non technical audience.
- Experienced in a similar role
- Experience working in (Telecom/Health care/Banking)
- Data Centre Transformation: Architecture, discovery, design and data migration activities using disciplines such as Virtualisation, Asset Management, Systems, Networks and Storage, Service Management and Automation with products including VMware, Oracle, Citrix, AIX, Linux, SQL Server, Windows, PlateSpin
- Storage: Consolidation & Virtualisation, Data Migration and Data Protection with products including HP StorageWorks Disk Arrays (XP24000 and EVA Family), EMC Disk Arrays (Symmetrix and Clarion), Hitachi Disk Arrays (USP and AMS) and IBM Disk Arrays (DS series), Brocade and Cisco networking products, and Symantec, EMC and CommVault Backup/Recovery solutions.
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure: Architecture, design and implementation with products including Citrix XenDesktop and VMware View, hypervisor technologies (Citrix XenServer, Hyper-V, VMware) and application virtualisation technologies (Citrix XenApp, App-V and VMware ThinApp).
- SharePoint: Architecture, discovery, design and data migration activities with Microsoft SharePoint and associated technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Forefront, SQL Server, IIS, load balancers and firewalls. Experience of migration from competitive portal and collaboration products is an advantage
- Security: Integration of different products to provide solutions to customer problems including governance and compliance, identity and access management, and security management. Member of the Institute of Information Security Professionals (M.Inst.ISP) is preferable
