USAID Project M&E Jobs – Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant

About USAID Project:
The USAID Applying Science to Strengthen and Improve Systems (ASSIST) Project is a new five-year cooperative agreement awarded to University Research Co., LLC and is dedicated to improving health, population and nutrition services through technical support to service delivery institutions, country, Ministries of Health, USAID country missions, and cooperating agencies. The new project carries on the work of the USAID Health Care Improvement Project in global advocacy, development, and promotion of cost-effective methods to design and improve health care services and systems in low- and middle-income countries. USAID ASSIST will align evidence-based interventions in technical content areas such as maternal, newborn and child health, HIV/AIDS, OVC and health workforce – with evidence-based approaches to strengthen and improve systems.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Participate in strengthening existing M&E system for the ASSIST project.
  • Support in preparing bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual programmatic performance reports.
  • Entering all M&E relevant reports into the online systems.
  • Preparing and sorting received documents and identifying forms that need to be entered.
  • Ensuring accuracy of entered data and comparing it with the existing filing system to make sure all records are consistent and aligned.
  • Support in the review and checking of QI data generated being in line with the M&E reporting requirements. Support the analysis of data in line with the M&E framework.
  • Provide guidance and support to QI advisors in the development and implementation of monitoring tools, which will include, but not be limited to, data collection, analysis and reporting on program indicators;
  • Participate in the training of ASSIST staff in monitoring of activities based on indicators and targets set out in the PMP;
  • Support the coordination and execution of events in the department such as, organizational project learning by developing, collecting and disseminating relevant information on monitoring, evaluation and research.
  • Other Monitoring and Evaluation functions as needed.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor degree (preferred) in Statistics, Development studies, social studies or its equivalent experience with a formal qualification of monitoring and evaluation.
  • Minimum of at least three (3) years of experience in design and implementation of monitoring, evaluation and research
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word processing, Database management, SPSS or other statistical packages
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Good strategic and analytical thinking and ability to interpret public health and epidemiological data
  • Familiarity with USAID regulations is desired.
