Job Title: Coordinator Agriculture

About ZOA:
ZOA Uganda is an International Christian Non-Governmental Organisation for Humanitarian and Rehabilitation Assistance. Our mission is to assist rebuilding the livelihoods of people affected by warfare, conflict or natural disaster. We operate in 17 countries in Africa and Asia. Our programmes in Uganda concentrate on Food Security, Livelihoods/Economic Development, Education; and WASH in close cooperation with counterpart structures.
About Project:
This 3 year project is funded by the EU. The Coordinator Vocational Training and Income Generating Activities (VT and IGA) ensures the implementation of the project on a day to day basis in Nwoya, (s)he supervises the ZOA staff in Nwoya under the project. The coordinator provides organisational development support to the partner organisation and the vocational training centres.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
· The Coordinator plans, organizes and implements activities together with the programme manager in the Agricultural Farmer Field School (FFS) project.
· The Coordinator ensures monitoring and reporting of the project in line with donor requirements
· The Coordinator oversees FFS Facilitators and ensures correct implementation of the FFS approach in the field.
· Motivates and stimulates the FFS facilitators on working and living in the communities of the project.
· Main project components: sensitization and formation of farmer groups, extension work according the FFS approach in post conflict settings.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
· Proven knowledge of the FFS approach; having worked as FFS Facilitator, good management, planning, communication, facilitation skills
· Good knowledge and skills in post harvest handling and commercial farming.
· Excellent command of English.
· Willingness to live and work in Nwoya
· Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, extension work or other relevant field.
· At least 3 years successful, experience in FFS projects as facilitator or coordinator.
· Experienced in Motorcycle driving and having valid MC driving permit.
· Command of Luo.
· Person Profile: For the above positions we are looking for a stable personalities, who enjoy working with little supervision and in a dynamic environment. (S) he should have the ability to endure some hardship.
