About the LCLC: The Ligingi Community Learning Centre (www.ligingi.com), a vibrant Ugandan community organisation, is rolling out its strategic framework “Village Power: 2012 -2016”. To realise its vision of a self-sustaining Ligingi village, the LCLC is now seeking a full-time volunteer Community Development Assistant to coordinate its community activities.
Job Summary:
· 12 months Full Time Volunteering
· Uganda Shillings 200,000 p/m

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
· Design, plan and implement community education activities
· Build and maintain positive relationships between the LCLC, Ligingi community and external stakeholders
· Coordinate and support local and international volunteer activities
· Organise and deliver training to committees and community members
· Provide stories and visuals for social media and external communications
· Communicate to the LCLC management in a timely manner
· Administration and monthly reporting
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
· Relevant qualifications (e.g. agriculture, rural development, cooperatives etc)
· Experience in a rural area in East Africa / Africa region
· Experience in at least one of the following thematic areas: Livelihoods, Agriculture, Health, education or a relevant area
· Experience working with limited resources
· Training and facilitation
· Teambuilding and conflict resolution
· Administration and financial management
· Strong English writing skills
· Computer skills (Web 2.0 and MS Office, especially Excel and Word)
· Experience working independently and in a team
· Personal integrity
· Enthusiasm and positivity
