Job Title: Deputy Chief of Party, Uganda
Cardno Emerging Markets USA, Ltd. (Cardno) is seeking candidates for a Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) position for an upcoming USAID-funded health project in Uganda.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
· The DCoP will support the Chief of Party (COP) in managing programmatic activities.
· S/he will provide supervision and coordination across three technical teams – Service Delivery, Health Financing and Public Private Partnership (PPP) – to ensure that appropriate technical guidance is provided to regional teams.
· The DCoP, along with the CoP, will help to build and sustain strong relationships with local stakeholders at a senior, strategic level.
· S/he will represent the project at senior-level meetings with USAID, Ugandan Ministry of Health and other implementing partner representatives.
· S/he will work with the Cardno Home Office (HO) management team to ensure timely completion of deliverables such as annual and quarterly work plans and reports.
· In addition, s/he will provide technical expertise to the project in at least one of the above mentioned technical areas.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
· Masters Level Degree (development studies, governance, public health, or another related field)
· Seven or more years of demonstrable experience managing and providing technical support to donor-supported public health initiatives
· Five or more years of experience working for or in collaboration with public health officials, donors, USAID implementing partners, and service delivery organizations.
· Previous experience as a DCOP on a USAID-funded project is a plus
· Excellent organizational, supervisory, and communication skills required
· Experience of the Ugandan health sector preferred
