Job Summary: Public Relations Officer (1 Vacancy)
Report to: Communications & Marketing Manager
About UIRI:
Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI) a parastatal organization under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade Industry and Cooperatives is seeking to recruit skilled and experienced personnel for the following positions:
Job Summary: The position holder will help to generate a favourable brand image for the institute as well as ensuring that objectives are achieved in line with the institute’s mandate.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
· Participate in planning, developing and Implementing the PR strategy and internal communications.
· Writing and editing in-house magazines, publicity brochures, case studies, information for web sites, articles and reports
· Update, maintain and manage the institute’s website in collaboration with the communications and marketing manager.
· Liaising with media people, stakeholders, vendors, and other partners.
· Support internal staff and help the marketing team design innovative communications and marketing strategies.
· Organising promotional events such as press conferences, open days, exhibitions, tours and visits
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mass communication with a minimum experience of 3 years in media and public relations.
· Superior written and verbal communication skills,
· Ability to think out of the box, a self-starter,
· Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, pay attention to details and handle a variety of responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
