Job Title: Programme Officer

Job Purpose: To administer the direct and indirect delivery of a portfolio of projects, in collaboration with partners, to meet the British Council’s objectives and targets and partner expectations in Uganda.

Key Accountabilities and Areas of Responsibility:
·         Administer a portfolio of projects and programmes ensuring successful implementation on time, to specified quality and to budget
·         Maintain project information and ensure that activities are delivered in compliance with corporate standards
·         Conduct evaluations of projects and collate data to feed into the monitoring process for consideration in the development of new opportunities and in future project designs
·         Using different communication mediums engage with both internal and external audiences to increase visibility of British Council programmes
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·         Proven Experience in delivering projects and contracts using the project cycle of identification and development, implementation and evaluation and reporting
·         Demonstrable experience of engagement with different stakeholders including government, civil society, private companies, international organisations and other
·         Excellent oral communications skills to effectively present information, respond to questions
·         Exceptional writing skills to effectively create clear and concise reports and proposal
·         Capacity to work both independently and as a member of a team
·         Qualification in a related discipline
