Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide support and take lead in developing institutional business to the commercial division UHMG by prospecting, carrying out market intelligence, corporate ales and relationship marketing where institutional requests and needs are met in a timely and progressive manner. The position is responsible for providing professional and corporate business linkages to private for profit and private not for profit institutions in a way that long term relationship is built and maintained for UHMG.
This position requires a person who has marketing acumen, technical knowledge in health and Uganda health sector ability to provide professional responses, capacity in the areas of commercial operations with explicit interpersonal skills, and have a thirst for results.
The person should have the capacity to work under minimum supervision, take the lead and represent UHMG in professional forum and be innovative in developing the business relationships as well as undertaking timely reporting.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
The Business Manager – Key Accounts will be specifically responsible for the following tasks: –
·         Develop and Implement institutional marketing plan with the view of developing and growing business relationship and customer base
·         Organize and profile all key accounts and prospective institutional customers for specific business targeting and management
·         Prospects follows up and provide business deal closes satisfactorily in ways where customers are retained and services satisfaction levels improved subsequently, and payment are received on time
·         Ensure that all key account requests and needs are attended to on a timely and professional manner, with feedback and customer complaints effectively handled,
·         To lead the business plan for the portfolio, be responsible tor achieving the revenue objectives and appraising the customers according to account performance and advising management on the best way forward
·         Be responsible for budgeting for the revenue stream, monitoring performances over times, take overall management of the business portfolio and responsibility for the outcomes
·         Be responsible for preparing tenders and bids submissions. contract management and any other business related documents for the portfolio
·         Act as the link, contact person for the third party businesses and grow the business relationship at every point of the customers accounts
·         Be creative, and innovate new ways of growing and sustaining both the key account relationship and the revenue stream
·         1Be part of a team that will take business management of the commercial division to ma sustainable level by playing a role as a management team member
·         Produce and submit weekly customers performance issues, prospects and plans of action to the director product facility
·         Work and coordinate sales and distribution of products with business development manager, head of stores, supply chain manager and the regional pharmacy managers effectively to bring about high revenue returns and increased profitability of the portfolio and for the whole of UHMG.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
·         Bachelors degree in any marketing related field with a background in health products marketing, or health background with augmented marketing skills.
·         Member of professional marketing body (CIM or others) will be highly considered.
·         At least 5 years experience in managing related business with minimum 2 years at the management level in a well stratified private commercial organization
·         This position requires a person with a celebrated marketing career, health products marketing, sound understating of key accounts management, technically competent in handling pharmaceutical and other health products.
·         Should have very good communication skills, organized, paying attention to detail and highly responsive to the task at hand. Computer literacy with very good knowledge of MS Office, Tally Good report writing and presentation skills.
·         Flexible, innovative, a team player, with good communication, feedback, and interpersonal and supervisory skills and able to work with a mufti-cultural team within the organization Able to delegate clearly, and have flair for attention to detail.
