Business Development Manager Job Opportunity at The Human Resource Managers’ Association of Uganda

Location: Kampala, Uganda

Job Summary: To plan and execute the Business development initiatives and interventions as derived from the Association’s business plan and Strategic objectives.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
·         Develop and implement strategies for enhancing existing and developing new member’s professional development programs
·         Contribute to the development of the Association’s Strategic Business plan, monitor implementation of the plan and generate periodic performance reports.
·         Manage the Association’s information materials both electronic and print.
·         Network with all institutions/companies and other professional Associations and establish strong business/client partnerships/ relationships with them.
·         Broaden the Association’s membership base, maintain an updated membership register and provide timely advise to members on their membership status.
·         Manage the performance and development of the Secretariat staff.
·         Expand on the Association’s Visibility by developing and maintaining knowledge, awareness and understanding of the association’s programs and initiatives to both the existing and plausible members.
·         Conduct extensive market research on the Association’s business needs (member’s future learning and development demands) and proactively design/propose new initiatives that will address them.
·         Create financial projections for the Association’s growth; negotiate professional deals, develop contracts and other business development or alliance development projects.

Person Specifications;
Character:
·         Self-driven person with superior presentation skills, as well as excellent oral & written communication skills.
·         Highly motivated, pro-active, Flexible and Goal oriented person with strong project and task management skills.
·         Ability to plan/prioritize and handle conflicting tasks with minimum direction and supervision.
·         Strategic, conceptual thinking and analytical skills with a considerable level of integrity.
·         High commercial acumen and a record of confidence dealing with middle managers through to decision makers.
·         Interpersonal skills and ability to build, lead and work as part of a team

Academic Qualifications:
·         A Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Organizational/Industrial Psychology, Social Sciences or a related discipline.
·         A post-graduate and/or professional qualification in Administration and Management, project management and any related discipline will be an added advantage.
Experience: 
·         At least 3 years’ experience in development and implementation of Business Development processes and systems in a service industry.
·         A considerable degree of expertise in change and project management.
·         Experience of stakeholder/relationship management and ability to work with a diverse group of individuals in a professional and service-oriented manner.
