Based on the understanding that the future of Africa will be determined majorly by the youth, the MasterCard Foundation has launched a scholar’s program the BRAC will be partnering with the Foundation to implement This Program me in Uganda. The vision of the program is to educate and develop bright, yet economically marginalized young people in Africa who have a demonstrated ‘ give-back” ethos, and who will contribute to the transformation of the continent. And it is on this note that BRAC Uganda invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill up the above vacant positions:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities;
- Managing Program implementation as per The agreement with MasterCard Foundation. This among others will include;
- Ensuring all activities {scholar selection and recruitment, educational support, comprehensive student support services, network of high quality institutions and alumni network) are implemented according lo key deliverables agreed with MasterCard Foundation.
- Manage and supervise all staff assigned lo the programme by providing clear guidance, scope for career development and ensure team spirit
- Revise programme implementation strategy based on lessons learnt. Ensure financial management and accountability for the programme
- Reporting and analyzing the various Programme initiatives. This among others will include:
- Analyze information on various program me initiatives to assess impacts Report on program me impacts to various stakeholders and partners.
- Support research activities on various topics related to youth with particular emphasis on scholarships
- Must have a Master Degree in social sciences.
- More than 10 years working experience with development management expertise (and this should be in the education sector, specifically in secondary education, and or working with young people.
- Experience of working in a multicultural environment.
Salary: Negotiable
