The HUB-Pajule is a starting social enterprise that supports emerging commercial farmers to transform their farms into thriving micro enterprises. We have the ambition to develop an innovative approach to farmers’ owned commercial farms and their role as key economic actors. The organization was started in March 2012 and to continue its growth we need to fill three positions with individuals who have an entrepreneurial spirit and the ambition to drive their careers forward.
As manager together with your team of agro-enterprise support officers you are responsible for assisting member farmers transforming their agricultural activities into small commercial enterprises (SME) that are financially and environmentally sustainable. With time you also assist member farmers in setting up and running their own cooperative or association
Key Responsibilities:
You:
- Contribute to the development of the model of agro SMEs
- Build a strong motivated and efficient team
- Manage and supervise the work of agro-enterprise support officers
- Coordinate and manage the collection of qualitative and quantitative data in existing systems
- Coordinate and manage the HUB knowledge center where member farmers get information and training
- Report on a weekly basis to the General Manager
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
You need to:
- Have a solid training in agro-economics at masters level
- Be experienced in building agro SMEs
- Have led successful teams
- Be able to organize activities effectively and efficiently
- Have affinity with farmers and their aspirations
- Be fluent in Luo
