LWF Uganda received funding from the European Commission ( ACP-EU Energy Facility) with the aim of increasing access to energy efficient stoves among rural households in Northern Uganda and enhancing local reforestation efforts to ensure the sustainability of trees as an energy source.
- Works with the Project Officer to initiate and coordinate the planning and implementation of the agro-forestry project activities;
- Work with local authorities, community leaders, relevant civil society and non-governmental organizations, collaborating/implementing partners, and other stakeholders where appropriate in order to achieve the agro-forestry project objectives, and facilitate project implementation;
- Collects and compiles on a regular basis field data on agro-forestry project activities carried out, and undertakes impact assessments using participatory approaches for all beneficiaries to determine the relevance and impact of the project assistance;
- Conducts on-site mobilization, sensitization and training on basic appropriate agro-forestry and related environmental management practices and techniques;
- Prepares implementation data (distribution lists, training attendances, exchange visits data, CERP’s and LECs reports etc) for the agro-forestry inputs in liaison with the Project Officer and local community leaders.
- Assists the Project Officer to prepare periodical work plans and progress/status reports on agro-forestry project activities and achievements in line with the requirements stipulated in the project documents;
- Prepares and submits reports to the Project Officer as according to the appropriate donor reporting templates and requirements.
- A University degree or Diploma in Forestry
- At least two (2) years working in Agro-forestry in a reputable firm or INGO
- Computer literacy with strong Microsoft Office skills
- Good organization and communication skills.
- Ability to initiate and complete assignments with minimal supervision
- Strong organization, supervisory, problem-solving, interpersonal, as well as team building skills
