Job Title: Human Resource Manager (Re-advertised)

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reporting to: General Manager – Management Services
Job Objective: Providing practical, consistent, and proactive support, direction and advice to Human Resource (HR) staff and managers on HR procedure, policy, best practice, employment rewards, benefits and legislation to facilitate in achieving the objectives and targets of the organization
Duties and Responsibilities:
·         Planning, developing and implementing HR strategy and policies including recruitment and selection policy / practices, medical care, discipline, grievance, counseling, pay and conditions, contracts, training and development succession planning, morale and motivation, culture and attitudinal development, performance appraisals, quality management payroll management and salary reviews etc.).
·         Monitoring, evaluating, measuring and reporting on HR issues, opportunities, development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timeframes.
·         Maintaining awareness and knowledge of contemporary HR development theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and staff within the organization..
·         Ensuring that all Group activities meet and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duties
·         Co-ordination of performance appraisal, including reviewing of staff appraisal reports, chairing of staff appraisal meetings and computation of salary increases and promotions
·         Executing any other tasks assigned by the General Manager – Management Services.


Qualifications, Skills & Experience

·         Preferably a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management, Social Work and Social Administration, Organizational Psychology or any other related discipline.
·         Knowledge of existing Ugandan labour laws.
·         Minimum of 5 (five) years of work experience in a similar position In a large manufacturing business entity.
·         Applicants should not be less titan 35 years of age.
