Reports to: Director Policy, Research & Programming
Purpose of the Job: To manage communication and advocacy programmes of UAC in the promotion of the national response to HIV/AIDS epidemic and to oversee the Public Relations function.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To develop and review policies and strategies for advocacy and public relations.
- To prepare work plans for advocating for the support and participation of stakeholders in the national response.
- To prepare responses and materials required for the national response and the image of the Commission.
- To organize and conduct sensitization fora for the national response.
- To attend meetings, workshops and conferences in order to advocate and seek support for the national response.
- To coordinate the organization of national MIV/AIDS related events as required by the Commission.
- To coordinate the development of strategies and guidelines for Behavioral Change Communication (BCC) initiatives.
- To monitor and evaluate the level of awareness and participation of stakeholders in the national response to HIV/AIDS.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication or a related field from a recognized institution.
- A Post Graduate qualification in Communication from a recognized institution.
Experience
- A minimum of Eight (08) years working experience, Three (3) of which must have been at a senior level in Government, NGO or a reputable organization.
