NGO Degree Jobs at Concern – Social and Behaviour Change Communication Specialist

Concern Worldwide Uganda is recruiting for various positions for the USAID- funded PL 480 Title II Development Food Aid programme called “Resiliency through Wealth, Agriculture and Nutrition RWANU”) in Karamoja to be implemented from August 2012 through July, 2017. RWANU will focus on two strategic objectives to reduce food insecurity among vulnerable rural populations in selected sub –counties in 4 districts of Karamoja: (1) Improved availability and access to food and (2) reduced malnutrition in pregnant and lactating mothers and children under five. All positions will be based in Karamoja.
Job Purpose: She / He will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating all Social and Behaviour Change Communication components of RWANU.
S/ he will participate in formative research for developing the social behavior change strategy and will advise in the design and development of related materials and approaches. S/he will lead on training and supporting project staff and partners tasked with delivering SBCC activities.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
·         Master’s degree in Public health, health promotion or related field, specialism in social and behaviour change communication preferred.
·         A minimum of 5 years relevant experience including 2 of which will be in Karamoja. Demonstrable skills in participatory planning and team approaches.
·         Experience in developing materials for a variety of target audiences.
·         Strong skills in community development and Care Group model is an advantage.
