Communications and Outreach Officer Vacancy at CAF Uganda (CAF U)

CAF Uganda (CAF U) is registered as a local organization in Uganda, dedicated to limiting suffering of HIV-impacted children and families. It provides comprehensive HIV/AIDS treatment, care and prevention services through effective programming, project design, coordination &implementation within a collaborative partnerships framework. CAF Uganda is committed to a cost-effective, innovative and sustainable model for the scale up of national HIV programs, Health Systems Strengthening and harmonization with Ministry Of Health guidelines and the Government of Uganda policy of Public Private Partnerships for Health. Inline with its vision, Children’s AIDS Fund Uganda in collaboration with affiliated care and treatment facilities presently; provides care, treatment and prevention services to over 12,000 clients and positioning to scale up access to comprehensive and integrated healthcare delivery at the following sites: Family Hope Centre Kampala (FHCK) and Family Hope Centre Jinja (FHCJ),
Kabwohe Clinical Research Centre (KCRC) and Bushenyi Medical Centre (BMC). CAF Uganda is currently looking for suitable qualified Ugandans to fill the following positions available at the CAF Uganda Head Office and treatment sites:
Reporting to the Executive Director will develop and implement a communication strategy that promotes information sharing and learning between CAF-Uganda and other local and international agencies and organizations, as well as the general public. The incumbent will be the official spokesperson and Public Relations representative for CAF-Uganda.
Job requirements:
  • Honors degree in Mass Communication and or Journalism, Honors in Social Sciences B.A (SS) with 5 years of progressive experience in communications- including but not limited to electronic design and editing skills for presentations, databases and web pages.
  • Keen knowledge of HIV-related issues and understanding of Uganda’s political, media, economic, social and educational structure, institutions, and key figures in influential institutions will be an added advantage.
