Vacancies: The Union has potentially three positions to fill to support a five-year USAID/Uganda National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Program (NTLP) in Uganda. The project is expected to be launched in January 2013. Please note that recruitment will depend on The Union’s successful application for funding from USAID/Uganda.
The positions are: Chief of Party shall have the requisite qualifications and experience sufficient to ensure a balance of technical, managerial and inter personal skills. S/he shall be well versed with the program goals and objectives and at all times, maintain and articulate the strategic vision for the program. S/he shall be responsible for interacting with and representing the program to the Ministry of Health and to other donor agencies. The skills and experience of the Chief of Party shall be complementary to those of the Deputy Chief of Party. Specifically the Chief of Party will have:
· A Master’s Degree or higher in Public Health. Medicine or equivalent related field;
· At least ten years’ progressively responsible experience working in public health in the fields of infectious disease, maternal and child health, with at least three years working in TB;
· Demonstrated leadership skills in working and collaborating with other donors, host country institutions, and international organisations;
· At least four years’ relevant supervisory experience of professional (technical) staff;
· Documented experience in working with host government institutions and providing the level of technical assistance that is required for a program of this level;
· Excellent past performance references (contacts shall be provided);
· Working knowledge of and experience with USAID project management, policies and procedures;
· Excellent organisational, analytical, oral and written communication skills;
· Relevant field experience in similar settings with significant management responsibility.
