Purpose of the Job: The Uganda Christian University seeks to recruit a suitably qualified person to serve as Technical Instructor in the Department of Mass Communication. The department needs a technician to maintain them, manage equipment, assist with the transfer of practical skills and advise on acquisition of equipment and other teaching resources.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
· Diploma, Certificate or other post-secondary qualification in media/media technologies’ maintenance from an institution of higher learning;
· Experience with sound engineering, lighting, video and multi-media operations;
· On-going professional development and maintenance of certifications;
· Relevant and current health and safety training and certifications;
· Applied technical expertise;
· Ability to transfer skills to students and assistants;
· Christian commitment;
Main duties and Responsibilities
· Manage all training equipment under the care of the department;
· Assist students and staff to remain on the cutting edge of emerging technologies and applications;
· Assist with the transfer of practical skills;
· Advise on acquisition of equipment and other teaching resources;
· Regularly maintain the department’s studios and equipment; and
· Perform any other duties that may contribute to the strengthening of practical training in the Department as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
