Programme Assistant for Agriculture – Uganda Czech Development Trust (UCDT)
Uganda Czech Development Trust (UCDT) is a non-profit making organization active in the field of education, health care, agriculture and community development. It is a main partner organization of Caritas Prague of the Czech Republic in Uganda.
One of the programmes carried out by UCDT is the Community Development Programme (CDP) which is currently being implemented in Buikwe district, Central Uganda. It aims at overall community development, targeting food security, income generation, capacity building, and improved quality and access to services.
The Programme Assistant for agriculture will be responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of agricultural projects under the Community Development Programme. S/he will also assist with school agricultural projects and any other agricultural activities of the organization according to the needs.

Position: Programme Assistant for Agriculture
Type of assignment: full-time employment, 2-year contract with the possibility of a renewal
Place of assignment: Buikwe district (former Mukono district), Central Uganda
Main responsibilities: community needs assessment, community planning, designing of agricultural projects; implementation of agricultural projects, trainings and advisory services for projects beneficiaries; preparation of training manuals and other materials; monitoring and evaluation of the projects, field visits and reporting; administrative and operational support to the Programme Coordinator

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Requirements:
· Min. Bachelor degree in agriculture or related field Min. 2-year working experience in agricultural sector (preferably with local communities)
· Experience with project management
· Good computer knowledge (email, MS Office – Word, Excel)
· Good communication and facilitation skills Fluency in English and Luganda
Added advantages:
· Knowledge of organic farming, effective farm management and farmer entrepreneurship, experience with farmers trainings, experience with school agricultural projects, a good grasp of participatory methodology, familiarity with gender and environmental issues
