Qualifications, Skills and Experience
· A Masters’ Degree in Journalism/Communication/Mass Communication from a recognized institution of higher learning (or in advanced stages of completion);
· Taught at university level for at least two (2) years;
· Mature Christian commitment;
· Evidence of substantial professional planned communication/public relations undertakings;
· Demonstrates understanding of the workings of the communication sector and its relationship with other sectors;
· Excellent writing skills;
· Photojournalism will be an added advantage;
· Committed Christian.
Main duties and Responsibilities
· Teach planned communication courses including public relations, advertising and development support/social and behaviour change communication;
· Demonstrate the capacity to teach at least two conceptual courses in the field of Mass Communication;
· Set and mark examinations and coursework;
· Supervise student projects, dissertations, research and internship;
· Counsel students;
· Prepare lessons for delivery;
· Develop training materials/manuals;
· Participate in meetings, on committees and in such other activities as pertain to the smooth running of the Department.
