National Campaign Officer – Oxfam

Position: National Campaign Officer
National Fixed-term Contract: 12 months Based in Kampala
The Role: We are looking for a dynamic individual with proven experience of the advancement of community rights in Uganda to join a campaign team working on land rights at both local and national levels.
Under the supervision of the Campaign Lead and in alliance with partners, you will provide support to the national partner organizations on a new land rights campaign as well as support community focused programming in Oxfam’s programme areas in Uganda.
You will facilitate community advocacy on land rights and linking the advocacy issues to national level and creation of a forum for knowledge sharing and learning at community and district level.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
·         The successful candidate will have a minimum Bachelors Degree a relevant field (media, communication, development studies, etc).
·         Must have experience in land rights, or communication and advocacy work on rights based issues in Uganda; s/he should have experience in working with partners and committed to advancing the capacities of partner organizations.
·         Excellent communication skills both written and spoken in English;
·         Responsive to requests for support and information;
·         Skills and experience in event organizing;
·         Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel & Internet);
·         Proven ability in linking and networking with broad spectrum of people and organizations are essential.
·         Experience of community development work will be an asset.
