We wish to recruit a qualified and experienced professional to fill the vacancy below.
We are looking to recruit Internal Auditor
Reports to: The Nation Media Group Head of Audit
Job Purpose: To carry out audit assignments with the view of providing independent and objective assurance and consultancy for value addition to the company at low cost.
Main Responsibilities:
o Planning audit assignments
o Designing and executing audit tests in compliance with conventional auditing guidelines
o Preparing assignment reports in accordance with professional code of ethics; and
o Identifying audit issues and following up with the respondents to ensure implementation of corrective measures.
o Participate in the annual Audit plan risk assessment exercise in order for the department to develop an audit plan
o Carry out risk assessment throughout the year based on individual basic assignments in order to accomplish audit assignments.
o Prepare and document risk based audit plan.
o Prepare audit reports for assignments executed
o Monitor compliance to policies and procedures and identify internal control gaps in the systems and give recommendations to management for action.
o To look out for red-flags through monitoring different departmental activities in the company in order to alert management on deviation from best practices and non-compliance so that timely action can be taken.
Qualifications & Experience:
o University Degree in related field from an accredited institution
o Professional Qualification in relevant field e.g. CISA, CIA
o An MBA would be an added advantage
o Excellent computer skills or demonstrable work experience in forensic audit systems;
o Experience in SAP or DTI systems will be an added advantage.
o Excellent planning and organisational skills
o Very strong analytical skills
o Strong business reporting skills
o Strong business acumen
