The Insurance Expert shall be under the direct supervision of the Chief Programme Officer of the Yellow Card and Regional Customs Transit Guarantee (RCTG -CARNET) Scheme and overall authority of the Secretary General of COMESA.
Key Tasks
The Insurance Expert shall perform the following duties:
a) Assist in the implementation and coordination of the Yellow Card Scheme in the COMESA member States;
b) Initiate measures and changes to improve the technical, legal, financial and administrative instruments;
c) Assist in providing advisory services and technical assistance to members in the implementation and administration of the Yellow Card scheme;
d) Prepare reports on activities and operations of scheme;
e) Assist in organizing and servicing national and regional meetings and workshops;
f) Conduct studies to enhance the efficiency of operations the Yellow Card scheme;
g) Compile information and update the Yellow Scheme-Information Management system (YC-MIS);
h) Prepare promotional materials and publications on the Yellow card scheme; and
i) Carry out any other related tasks as may be assigned to him/her by his/ her superior.
Minimum Qualifications
a) Minimum of Bachelors Degrees in Economics, Business Administration, Law or any relevant fields
b) Diploma in Insurance. A Diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute of London would be an added advantage.
Professional Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years professional experience, two of which are at senior management position.
Languages:
Fluency in English French or Arabic. A working knowledge of the others will be an advantage. Applicants should use the COMESA Application form from COMESA website.
