Finance Officer – ACORD
ACORD is a pan African Non- Governmental organization working for social justice and long term development in 17 countries in Africa. In Uganda, ACORD has its activities in more than 10 districts.
For its country office in Kampala, ACORD wishes to employ dynamic, self-driven and experienced Finance Officer
Responsible to: The Finance & Administration Manager
Job Purpose: To assist the Finance & Administration Manager to ensure efficiency in financial management by maintaining proper books of accounts and other records to facilitate accurate and timely reporting to donors and management.
The main areas of responsibility include:
o Keeping up-to date accurate books of accounts at the Country office;
o Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and reconciliation statements while observing donor requirements; Keeping track of different donor expenditure to ensure that all expenditure is within the approved budget limits;
o Responsible for all cash and bank transactions of the Country Office;
o Preparation of payrolls ensuring compliance to statutory requirements
Job requirements:
o A graduate of Commerce (B. Com) or Business Administration (BBA) with a bias in accounting, plus at least stage II of the Accounting Professional Courses – ACCA/CPA,
o At least three years workinq experience in an NGO or donor funded program.
o Strong and demonstrable computer skills especially MS Excel,
o Experience in handling multi-donor funding and reporting;
o Experience in auditing; Strong interpersonal and communication abilities;
o Should be analytical with a sense of accuracy, thoroughness and integrity.
