Data Entry Technician – Uganda Communications Commission (UCC)
The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) is the regulator of the communications sector in Uganda. It was established by the Uganda Communications Act (Cap 106 Laws of Uganda). UCC is inviting applications from suitably qualified internal candidates to fill the following position in the Directorate of Technology and Licensing.
SPECTRUM MANAGEMENT
Post: Data Entry Technician (1)
Reports to: Specialist/Frequency Planning

Job role: The jobholder shall be responsible for maintaining updated technical specifications of radio equipment and non-technical information on Automated Spectrum Management Systems in line with UCC’s regulatory mandate.
Key Results Areas:
· Maintain and retrieve updated technical specifications of radio equipment and non technical information of spectrum users in the Automated Spectrum management system (ASMS) database;
· Carry out maintenance of Automated Spectrum Management Systems
· Maintain an up-to-date inventory of spectrum users;
· Follow up spectrum users to provide updated and correct required technical and non-technical information;
· Liaise with the planning and monitoring teams to provide updated technical and non technical information of spectrum users, and;
· Prepare periodic reports relating to data entry in ASMS database, operational status of ASMS and inventory of spectrum users.
Qualifications/ Requirements
· Higher Diploma in telecommunication or electrical or electronic engineering with computer knowledge/skills from a recognised institute or university.
· A minimum working experience of two (2) years working with databases.
· Relevant experience working with the telecommunication sector will be an added advantage.
Age: Not above 30 years.
Experience, Knowledge and skills
· Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision;
· Ability to maintain a high standard of professionalism and personal values in relation to fellow staff and customers;
· Possession of high level of accuracy, integrity and honesty;
· Good report writing skills with ability to generate accurate and quality reports in a timely manner;
· Good IT skills with experience working with automated databases and software packages, and;
· Good interpersonal and communications skills
