Communications and Advocacy Capacity Building Specialist Job at RTI International in Uganda

Communications and Advocacy Capacity Building Specialist will provide the overall communications support for the project and translate the project goals and vision into messages that will speak to children, parents, teachers, and all Ugandans with respect to students’ improved learning
Key Duties & Responsibilities
·         S/he will also provide capacity building for the MOES in the area of strategic communication and other associated tasks.
·         S/he will be responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of a strong communications campaign, as well as provide capacity building support to the MOES and counterparts.
·         The Specialist will help raise national awareness on the issues of early grade reading and improving student learning.
Qualifications:
·         Master degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field;
·         6 years of increasingly responsible experience in communications in social sector;
·         Familiarity with communications approaches for planning, executing, and monitoring communications strategies;
·         Experience conducting communications campaigns and capacity building efforts in Uganda;
·         Fully competent in information systems skills, particularly in publications software;
·         Ability to train and develop capacity in regional and country-level staff;
·         Experience working on a USAID-funded or other donor project pertaining to technical and organization capacity development.
