Micro-finance Support Centre Limited (MSC)
is a Government
of Uganda (GOU) owned company. MSC was incorporated in 2001 as a company
limited by guarantee. It is the linchpin of GOU micro-credit programmes under
Rural Financial Services Strategy (RFSS).
MSC offers affordable financial and Business Development services
with a goal to maximize outreach and deliver demand driven credit. The credit
is offered through loan funds and loan products that support the agricultural
production value chain namely; production, value addition and marketing.
In order to realize its mission and vision, the Company
seeks to recruit suitable persons to fill the following vacant position in its
Executive Director (ED) – Level 1 (a)
JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for the day-to-day
management and administration of the Company. Provide overall direction and
leadership in the management of company activities to ensure that its mission,
goal and objectives are achieved.
REPORTS TO: The Board of Directors
Key tasks and responsibilities:
1.    Provide leadership to the technical,
financial and administrative staff so that Company activities are
5    conducted in harmony and as a team.
2.    Liaise with the Board Chairperson to
agree on the date, agenda and arrange for the Company Board of Directors’
meetings according to schedule.
3.    Oversee and ensure timely preparation
and submission of work plans, budgets and activity progress reports to the
Board of Directors, Government and Development partners.
4.    Responsible for the implementation of
the policies, rules and procedures set out by the Board for the Company staff
and clients and ensure their compliance in a transparent manner.
5.    To champion the institutional
Development and Organizational strengthening in order to enhance business
practices that are in line with industry standards and best practices.
6.    Ensure that all Company activities are
planned, monitored and evaluated systematically and lessons learned are
re-integrated into the system to enhance performance, transparency and

Information System (MIS) that can support the Company business.

Person Specifications:
The position requires the following person specification:
a)    He/she should have a bachelors degree
and Masters Degree in any of the following; Economics, Commerce, Rural
Development, Social Sciences, Business Administration or in any relevant fields
of development.
b)    10 years working experience at a senior
management level in a reputable organization.
c)    Membership to any professional body
will be an added advantage.
d)    Strong leadership skills
e)    A creative innovative and self
motivated person
f)    Ability to work under tight deadlines.
g)    Strong interpersonal skills.
h)    Computer literacy.
