Infrastructure Coordinator – Danish Refugee Council (DRC)

strategy for development assistance to refugee hosting areas in Adjumani,Moyo
,Yumbe Koboko,Maracha and Arua Districts in Westnile Region. (for information

Danish Refugee Council/Danish Demining Group In a bid to ensure
sustainable achievement our mission is seeking to recruit dynamic and
experienced person to fill the positions of;
Infrastructure Coordinator –Westnile Arua.
Reporting to: Project Manager Westnile.
General Role
The post refers to a trained DRC staff that can function at all levels with
vast knowledge of the contextual area of operations and can coordinate
activities in compliance with Internal/Donor and National policies/ Operational
Standard.
Responsibility and Specific
Tasks
·        
Coordinate
the Planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of DAR2 projects in West
Nile region.
·        
Attend
all DAR2 related meetings with the DLGs and CF.
·        
Present
all the Public Works and Infrastructures projects for approval by the DTPC and
guide the DLGs on the approved operational standards and guidelines.
·        
Propose
and make recommendations on alternatives labor intensive Public Works projects
·        
Develop
relationship with a range of Key stakeholders in CF, OPM, UN Agencies, Local
Governments and the Private Sector.
·        
Develop
staff performance measures and targets and upraised them based on the targets
set.
·        
Conduct
training needs assessment of all the DAR2 staff and make recommendations.
·        
Actively
participate in concept and proposal development.
·        
Prepare
monthly, quarterly and annual activity reports.
·        
Conduct
periodic field visits to support field staff through technical backstopping.
·        
Develop
a monitoring scheme, which include performance and impact indicators for all DAR2
components and related activities.
·        
In
collaboration with the Project Manager, review the activity and related
financial reports.
·        
Direct
all DRC DAR2 support to the targeted beneficiaries.
·        
Provide
Technical and Programmatic Leadership for the DAR2 works in West Nile.
·        
Ensure
efficient and Effective program implementation.
·        
Contribute
in the development of Project Plans/Budgets and funding proposals.
·        
Participate
in the Program operational and long term planning.
·        
Monitor
and document DRC’s DAR2 activities.
·        
Upholds
DRC’s international code of conduct.
Person Specification
·        
Higher
Degree in Development Studies from a recognized institution.
·        
Have 4
years experience in similar positions
·        
Post
Graduate diploma in Management studies.
·        
The
candidate must have Technical skills in Engineering, Project Planning and
Management.
·        
Must
have good management and presentation skills
·        
Must
have valid Riding Permit.



For the position
The position is contract based.
Remuneration and benefits are as per DRC/DDG Uganda Standard Salary Scale and
Benefit packages.
