ICT Officer – Uganda Energy Credit Capitalisation Company (UECCC)

Reports to:          
Manager, Finance and Administration
Main Purpose: To support the Manager, Finance and Administration to
manage the   Company’s Information and Communications Technology
(ICT) Infrastructure in line with the Company ICT Policy.
Key Outputs
a)      Ensure that ICT resources are always
available for use by UECCC staff.
b)     Maintain Corporate hardware and Software.
c)      Manage the Company’s Voice and Data
communications infrastructure.
d)     Manage the Company’s website.
e)      Maintain the Company’s ICT security
f)       Ensure minimal business downtime
Duties and Responsibilities
Effective provisioning, installation/
configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software and
related infrastructure;
Design, Implement and maintain security measures
to protect the Company’s ICT resources;
Manage and Maintain the company’s voice and data
communications infrastructure;
Design, implement, and maintain the company’s
database systems including database performance tuning;
Plan future expansion requirements including the
implementation of security measures to safeguard the corporate database systems
in line with database strategy, systems specifications and ICT Policy;
Maintain ICT systems and provide technical
software, hardware and network problem resolution to computer users in the
company in line with defined systems procedures and ICT Policy.
Perform Full lifecycle application development
of corporate software applications using Object-oriented Design and Analysis
(OOA and OOD)
Sustain a high level of Systems and Network
availability in line with set ICT policy strategy and management instructions.
Maintain the Company’s website.
Person Specifications
An Honors Degree in either Computer Science,
Information Technology, Computer Engineering.
Good hands on experience in managing Linux
Systems and Network Administration is required
Good working knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol,
Internet, e-mail systems, telecommunications and data communications; standard
operating systems, software packages, and software utilities; proper records
maintenance and storage for local and distributed environments.
Good working knowledge of corporate desktop
environments management using tools like Microsoft Active Directory.
Website design, development, and maintenance
knowledge is required.
At least 5 years proven experience designing,
and developing software applications (windows and web) for large organizations.
At least 5 years proven experience designing,
developing, and maintaining Databases for large organizations.
Linux Administration Certification is required
Oracle Certified Associate Certification is
Professional certification such as Microsoft
Certified Professional, CCNA or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Terms and Conditions of Service
Four (4) years renewable contract
including six months probation,  with an attractive remuneration
