Stopes Uganda (MSU) is one of the largest non-governmental not- for-profit
family planning organisation in Uganda. We are a focused, results oriented
social enterprise that develops efficient, effective family planning programmes
in Uganda. MSU believes family planning, a powerful and proven public health
intervention, is one of the most cost effective ways to reduce maternal, infant
and child mortality. The program’s vision is to make a national impact on
meeting the 41 % of unmet FP need in Uganda through the increased provision of
quality, accessible and affordable LAPM as part of a comprehensive method mix.
Barriers to FP particularly for rural poor women remain varied and complex but
are also surmountable. Through this program, MSU is proposing to address
Uganda’s high unmet need for FP and contribute to reaching further reductions
of maternal and child mortality.

Regional Manager – Outreach (RM-O)

Operations Director
              Purpose of the Position:Leading/Managing
Outreach teams in the Region, the Regional Manager – O/R’s (RM – 0) main role
is to facilitate the delivery of comprehensive Family Planning services
especially Long Acting & Permanent methods through the Outreach teams in
the Region, ensuring that all the activities relating to the teams are well
managed in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures, Donor compliance
regulations, deadlines, contractual targets and budgets. The key deliverable
will be to ensure that all outreach teams in the Region are fully functional
(according to MSI Medical Development Team guidelines), well supervised,
monitored, have proper documentation and are donor complaint. The jobholder is
expected to be able to interface comfortably with key external stakeholders.
The RM – 0 will report into the Outreach Channel Manager.The post holder should
as well be able to work in close liaison with Research, Monitoring &
Evaluation team to ensure evidence based programming and enable the adjustment
of the activities depending on the R, M & E findings. The RM – 0 will be
required to liaise with Integrated Marketing team to ensure that the
communication approaches are effective in mobilising and reaching the targeted
post holder will be required to have at least 4 years of experience working
with districts and communities and should have good managerial skills and
experience especially in managing field teams. The post involves extensive
national travel.
  • Managing
    outreach Service Delivery in the Region; Ensure that set objectives and
    projections are met.
  • With the support
    of the MDT, ensure that Clinical Standards and Client Care are delivered
    by the Regional Teams.
  • Provide the
    leadership and guidance to the Regional Outreach teams to enhance their
    individual and team productivity.
  • Ensure the all
    Outreach teams clearly understand and comply with the set working systems.
  • Collaborate with
    other MSU team members to ensure organisational efficiency and leveraging
    on already existing resources
  • to deliver
    services better.
  • Represent MSU in
    relevant meetings with external stakeholders especially at district level,
    building a strong network to present.
  • MSU evidence,
    project successes and learning.
  • At least 4
    years’ experience managing Community/ District level projects, with at
    least 3 years’ of Middle level experience in management.
  • Previous
    experience working in health service provision especially Family planning,
    maternal child health or community Health areas.
and Experience:-
  • University
    Degree or Health Sciences or similar;
  • Knowledge of
    Clinical Health Service Provision, Family Planning, Community Outreach and
    Social Marketing an added advantage
  • Fluent English
    both oral and written,
  • Proven oral,
    written, and editing abilities,
  • Ability to work
    in deadline driven/results orientated atmospheres
  • Strong people
    management skills
  • Able to work as
    part of a team, building consensus and driving change
