Job Summary: The Information
Technology/System Officer is mainly responsible for providing efficient technology
management services to maintain the operation of other functions and programs
following established standards and procedures. This position may require
minimum travel to field offices for technical support and story documentations.
A flexible working schedule is possible with this position.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Tasked with installing, testing,
    configuring, integrating, troubleshooting, optimizing and maintaining
    hardware and software to maximize WMU system availability and ensure efficient
    and effective sharing and transmission of information.
  • Supporting system resources including
    performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability to
    ensure the delivery of IT services.
  • Ensuring security compliance by reviewing
    network permissions and access to systems.
  • Build staff capacity in efficient and
    effective use of IT resources and the system infrastructure set up.
  • The incumbent will also manage the organization’s
    database on a timely basis.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Water Mission Information
    Technology/System Officer career opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s
    degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or in a related
    relevant field
  • At least two years’ experience in management
    of Information Technology and Systems for International NGOs.
  • Excellent verbal and written
    communications skills (English & Luganda/Lusoga/Luo)
  • Excellent analytical skills, project
    planning, monitoring and management skills.
  • Resides near our head office in Jinja
